Village WebDesign is owned by Susan Peterson, who lives in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, Canada. Pilot Mound is a small community of less than 1000 people, (hence the business name), located close to the US border. She currently has clients in both countries, and, as long as there's no language barrier, can design for clients anywhere in the world.

She completed her formal webdesign training in the spring of 2003, leaving college fully aware that her education was yet only beginning. In her spare time she studies subjects related to webdesign and website development, keeping abreast of what is new, and conquering any aspect of website development she finds challenging.

She belongs to the Women's Designer Group, which has proven to be an invaluable resourse to help her stay current with the ever-changing style and coding standards. She also belongs to her local Chamber of Commerce.

She believes that there's no point in having a website if it doesn't bring her clients new business, and discourages designing and developing websites for businesses for which there is no financial gain by having one, unless they are a charitable organization providing resourses online.

Susan's experience is growing beyond web design itself, and is moving into basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO). She emphasises to her clients that search engines alone will not bring new business to them, and that no-one can ever guarantee top search engine ranking. A website is part of a marketing strategy, and not the whole pie.
